Crankshaft Repair does not require the crankshaft to be removed from the entablature. In the recent past, due to seizure of bearings or development of taper, ovality, or loss of alignment of the crankshaft, it was necessary to remove the crankshaft from the engine block and send it to the designated workshop for crankshaft grinding and crankshaft repair.

The introduction of lightweight, vibration-free crankshaft grinding equipment facilitates grinding of the crankshaft, crankpin, and crank main journal on the spot while the crankshaft is assembled in the engine block. There is no necessity for even the decoupling of an alternator and other accessories from the diesel engine. The portable crankshaft grinding machine is placed on the crankpin or crank main journal through the inspection window of the entablature, and the grinding and polishing operation is done.
The crankshaft grinding machine is centreless, vibration-free equipment which ensures that the centre line of the crankpin is maintained. The crankshaft grinding and crankshaft polishing are done in one setting.
